| HISTORY Grapes were first planted at Burgi Hill in 1867 by Yarra Valley Pioneer John Burgi.
The original homestead property, together with its cherry orchard, remained in the Burgi family for 130 years until the Sargeant family bought it to expand their existing adjacent vineyard. The property is situated close to the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges between Wandin and Seville, just off the Warburton Highway and only 50 meters from the Warburton Trail.
Burgi Hill is a cool climate vineyard, planted to favoured Yarra Valley varieties of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and contains vines that are over 25 years old and producing at their peak in regards to quality. The grapes are hand picked at optimum sugar and acid levels to ensure freshness and delicacy of fruit flavours. |
