2001 CHARDONNAY
Rated in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2006.
Colour:
Brilliant straw, tinges of gold developing
Nose:
Melon / fig, developing subtle honey undertones, restrained cashew nutiness, the wine was aged in lightly toasted Vosges and Allier oak barrels (Vosges and Alliers being oak forests in France whose oak has been traditionally sourced for use with Chardonnay).
Palate:
Generous / full palate, peach / fig / apricot fruit and finishes with creamy oak and refined acid length. Aging quite well.
